Anyone
with an interest in corrosion
can join as an ordinary member;
and subsequently with suitable
qualifications/experience obtain
LCS membership or become a
professional member which
entitles the use of Member of
the Libyan Corrosion Society,
accordingly, as letters after
their name. Full details on
membership can be obtained with
benefits
Members of the society must
fulfill the following
conditions:
They must not be less than 18
years old.
Nominated for membership by the board of directors.
Reputed for their good conduct
and behavior and must not been
convicted for affecting their
honour or integrity unless they
have been reinstated.
Must hold the qualifications
necessary for him to carryout
the society’s activities, or
have ample expertise in the
field of it’s activities.
Be faithful towards upholding
the society’s principals and
committed towards payment of
subscribtion fees.
Must undertake not to breach the
society’s constitution.
Membership of the society shall
be classified into six
categories:
FOUNDER
MEMBERSHIP
Afforded to all founders who
took part in the proclamation of
LCS.
HONORARY MEMBERSHIP
Afforded to those who took part
in assisting and encouraging the
society in the long term.
LIFE
MEMBERSHIP
Afforded to those affiliated to
the LCS and it’s aims for a
period of 20 years.
FULL
MEMBERSHIP
Afforded to all founder members
of the LCS for a period of
noless than 9 years and to those
who have spent a period of no
less than 2 years as elevated
members to the board of
directors of the LCS by the
general assembly. And to those
who enjoy honorary and life
membership.
AFFILIATED MEMBERSHIP
Afforded to those who joined the
society following it’s
proclamation. These fall into
the following categories:
□ Researcher membership
Afforded to those who work in
the field of specific scientific
research regarding corrosion and
means of protection form it,
such as university lecutuers,
workers at research centers, and
labratories concerned with the
corrosion phenomenon.
□
Specialist membership
Afforded to university post
graduates and those who worked
in the field of protection from
corrosion for at least 7 years
following their graduation.
□
Engineer’s membership
Afforded to university
engineering and scientific
graduates in all fields.
□
Cocerned membership
Afforded to the various
scientific faculties other than
socialists or workers in the
field of protection from
corrosion, and to those kecn on
studying the corrosion
phenomenon, but lack the
necessary qualifications.
□
Student membership
Afforded to university under
graduates reading subjects
related to the society’s field
of concern.
□
Technician’s membership
Afforded to intermediate
corrosion related institute
certificate holder students and
in the case of no qualification
candidates a 5 years experience
period in this field is
required.
COMPANIES AND INSITUTIONS
MEMBERSHIP
Afforded to any public and
private companies local or
foreign and also partnerships
and consultant offices are given
the companies class membership
afforded with access to all the
advantages approved by the LCS,
company, insititution and others
that offers subscribtion fees
payable by such corporations.

Membership requests to be
addressed to the LCS board of
directors which reserves the
right to accept or deny and the
right to allocate the
appropriate membership class to
each request. Requests are to be
made on forms prepared by the
society. Applicant must under
take to uphold the society’s
principals.
