Libya, the fourth
largest state in Africa in terms of area, is situated in
North Africa and possesses a long stretch of Mediterranean
coastline, extends to approximately 1820 Km. Libya is
bordered by Egypt to the east, Sudan to the south-east, Chad
and Niger to the south with Algeria and Tunisia to the west
and north-west respectively. Libya has an area of
approximately 1,775,500 square
kilometers, three times the
area of France,
And a population of about
5,400,000 (2005), and the capital city is Tripoli (Tarabulus).
Libya acts as a link between the Mediterranean / Europe and
Saharan Africa.
The coastal regions have a Mediterranean climate with
moderate temperatures and enough rain during the winter
months for grain farming.
Libya may be the cradle of ancient civilizations, but it
also looks to the future. It is a country of peace. Libya, a

Benghazi, the
second biggest city in Libya, the queen of the seas. It is
an historical site. The city of Islamic civilization, Arab
art and handicraft, where every monument tells a story.
Benghazi has a wealth of old and new
monuments. Especially in the old Soak (Soak Al Jared) which
is popular markets where you can buy a great variety of
Libyan handicrafts such as traditional clothes, carpets,
handmade gold and silver jewellery, copper and silver
dishes, leather goods, and pottery.
Benghazi is an economic, financial and cultural center with
less than one million inhabitants.

The climate of Benghazi during
November in general good, the weather can be sunny and rain
can also expected.

Shops in Benghazi usually open
at 9.00 and close at about 20.00, many good shops can be
found in Dubai street, Alwahda Al Arabia or 20th street, Al
Hadaeq area and famous Benghazi traditional Souq is called
Souq Al Jared. |
